What happens in this class?

Be coached by a professional artist as you work through an acrylic painting that is totally unique to you.

The class starts with pencil and paper based warm-up exercises to help you find your creative flow before moving onto your paintings.

Then, we invite you to select a photo on your smartphone to paint. We'll connect you up to your personal projector, which will cast your image down onto your canvas board for you.

Working on top of the light, you'll be able to quickly and effectively outline your image so that you can get painting in…

What will I be painting?
Guests can transform a photo of their choice into a painting in just 90 minutes, using our clever light boxes, even as a complete beginner. You can choose any photo on your smartphone: a holiday snap, loved one, poster art, anything that inspires you!
Are your classes suitable for children?
Yes, if they have adult supervision. If having a grown-up present is not possible, we also run Mini MasterPeace classes for those younger budding artists.
Are your classes Covid Secure?
Yes. All our classes are backed by our Covid-Secure Guarantee, meaning you can cancel or reschedule no quibbles due to a government lockdown or sickness. Our classes are fully socially distanced, see our 'Covid Update' blog post in the footer of our website for up to date info on all things Covid, and our extensive measures to keep you safe whilst at the studio.
What's included?
- A mini Art-Kit full of brand new artist materials including an A4 canvas board, brushes, pencil, acrylic paints and more - all to keep after class! - A complimentary sweet treat and cocktail / mocktail - Biodegradeable apron - 90 minutes with a professional artist - Frames available to purchase at the end of class
What is the structure of the class?
Each class will begin with pencil and paper based warm up exercises to help you find your creative flow before moving onto your paintings. You'll then be guided by the professional artist instructor to create an impressive painting that is personal to you.
How have you adapted your classes for COVID-19?
For a full breakdown of all the extensive measures we've implemented to stay Covid Secure, head to our latest blog post - found in the footer of our main website. A few minor points to mention for our regular guests who perhaps visited us pre-covid and are wondering what's changed: - Our usual shareable bottles of Prosecco have been swapped for individual cocktails (and mocktails) served in cans - this is to limit hand-to-hand (and bottle-to-glass) contact for now. Biodegradable cups are available. The cocktails are delicious, we love them, but we'll get back to bubbles as soon as we can! -Our gorgeous cotton artist's kimonos have been temporarily swapped to biodegradable gowns. They're not quite as pretty but they get the job done, and they're kind to the planet too.
Will I finish my painting?
Lots of our guests finish their paintings in the first sitting with us, have them framed on site, and hang them up as soon as they get home. But... it really comes down to: - How complex your chosen image is - Any extra finesse you'd like to add, say, if it's intended as a gift for someone - How speedy you are! At MasterPeace we practice mindful painting, so we really don't want you to rush, let it take the time it wants to take. And to enable you to relax: we send you home with all the paints & brushes you use in your class to keep, so that you can add any final touches from home, free of charge, should you need. If you'd rather come back to us: you can return for another class, or sign up for a Freestyle session, that's 90 minutes of independent painting for just £10.
Can I leave my painting at MasterPeace?
Some guests choose to leave their paintings with us in between visits, which is our pleasure. We do advise to do so at your own risk... it is an operational art school and paint explosions are definitely a thing! We will keep your piece for a maximum of two weeks unless you get in touch with us. We wouldn't recommend this option if you're very attached to your creation... instead, we'd help you blow-dry your painting so you can take it home with you on the same day.

I had a private lesson with zena (not intentional),it was great fun! The stools weren't comfortable but she got me a chair from the restaurant near by and gave me some cushions too. The studio looks very inviting, the atmosphere and the company added to the expiernce. I didn't manage to finish my work but I will definitely come again. (Beverages and snacks and given too which is an added bonus)

We had a lovely time at Masterpeace! The masterclass was really calming, creative and enjoyable. Alma was a great teacher. I’m so pleased with the outcome of my painting. The one tiny thing I would change was the stools we sat on were quite uncomfortable. If you have any back or hip problems you might struggle a bit!
